He has been painting pastels for more than 10 years and has focused on nature scenes, such as flowers, streams, beaches, etc. His pieces typically emphasize the early- or late-in-the-day properties of the sun.
He has worked in pen & ink for only the past few years. His sketching skills emerged from his sculpture sketches, but have now taken him to the "highly detailed" world of pen & ink. In his works he seeks out scenes that offer great depth of view, to take the viewer into the scene where color would only be a distraction.
And he has done watercolors on and off over the years, always seeking new approaches to the technique.
